Vera was born in and lives in London. She is married and has three daughters and 8 grandchildren.
She graduated from the Oxford University Ruskin School of Drawing and of Fine Art in 1968 (a traditional, academic course, comprising life-drawing and painting, still-life painting, history of art, and anatomy) and later completed a one year Post Graduate Diploma in Fine Art at the Byam Shaw School of Art in London.
She has worked in publishing as a Picture Editor and run her own interior decorating business, but has always continued with her own practice of painting and drawing. Specialising in Portraiture, she has been widely commissioned and her portraits hang in Greece, Israel, Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Rumania,, and the UK.
She also paints and sells still-life paintings, always returning to her favourite subject of fish. She works in Oil, Pastel, Acrylic and Charcoal.
For several years she has been teaching at her studio in Hampstead and has run Pastel and Still Life Workshops at the Hampstead School of Art
